Damage Waiver Plus is an optional service designed to protect our customers from charges that may arise in the event of loss, damage or theft (‘Loss’) of PID Systems’ equipment (‘Equipment’) whilst on hire. Customers are under no obligation to take out Damage Waiver Plus.

Cost of Damage Waiver Plus
Damage Waiver Plus is charged at £5 per week (or part week) to cover up to a maximum of 20 pieces of Equipment. Where a customer has opted to pay for Damage Waiver Plus, PID Systems will waive the cost of repairing accidentally damaged Equipment and/or the cost of any Loss of the Equipment up to the value of £10,000. Any Loss above £10,000 will be the customer’s responsibility.

Fair Wear and Tear & where Equipment is Armed
A Customer will not be liable:
(i) for fair wear and tear of the Equipment.
(ii) where any Loss occurs whilst the Equipment is armed.
(iii) for any inherent fault in the Equipment.

Limitations and Exclusions
In order to qualify for the waiver provided by Damage Waiver Plus the customer must:
(i) be able to demonstrate that reasonable care had been taken to prevent the Loss.
(ii) report any theft of Equipment to the Police and obtain a crime reference number.
(iii) notify PID Systems in writing within 48 hours of the Loss.

If a customer chooses not to take Damage Waiver Plus, then they will be liable for 100% of the total cost of repairs for any damage to the Equipment on hire. Customers choosing not to pay for Damage Waiver Plus will be liable for 100% of the total replacement cost in the event of loss or theft of the Equipment on hire.

Damage Waiver Plus will not apply, and customers will remain liable for:
(i) the first £100 of any claim for Loss to Equipment.
(ii) Loss due to the dishonesty, wilful defect or negligence of any customer’s employee, sub-contractor or agent.
(iii) Loss caused by the Hirer’s negligence, damage or breach of the PID Terms and Conditions of Hire
